Whiskers Wagon Pilot Helps Remove More Barriers to Spay/Neuter

Two goals of Whiskers Rescue Inc. are the responsible / legal management of feral cat colonies and helping to provide access to low cost spay/neuter services to those in need. While we strongly believe every cat colony MUST have a care taker we also recognize that in some situations there are barriers that prevent "feeders" from doing more. The first barrier is financial and often this is combined with lack of transportation options to low cost clinics which are often not local. For many residents of NJ cities without cars low cost clinics are not a simple option.

Over a year ago we began our journey to remove the transportation barrier. We were granted a NJ budgetary allocation to run a pilot program. The goal of this program is to determine if residents will more readily take responsibility for free roaming cats they feed and cats they have taken into their homes if both financial and transportation assistance is offered.

We are proud to announce that we are now ready to launch the Whiskers Wagon! We will be providing transportation service from local areas to low cost clinics in NJ. We are accepting applications for TNVR (trap, neuter, vaccinate, return) as well as from residents who have taken in cats and can not access the clinics on their own.

Climate controlled safe transport with space for dozens of cats!

The first city to accept our offer of assistance is Passaic NJ. They city is allowing us access to a public lot for residents to meet our shuttle. . Our inaugural transport is scheduled and we are incredibly excited to have a new method of helping both cats in residents in need of assistance.
