Program Rules:

We do have traps to lend out for a period of 2 weeks at a time.

They must be picked up in Sayreville NJ. We require a $100 deposit per trap which will be returned to you when the trap is returned. There is no fee to borrow traps.

All Surgeries are by appointment only.

Please do not apply for more cats than you can guarantee for each transport day. All canceled appointments and no show will be paid for by the applicant.  Cats must be dropped off and picked up on time. Cats not reclaimed will be surrendered to animal control.

Feral Cats & Friendly Stray Cats

All feral cats must arrive in a humane cat trap. Each trap must be labeled with the provided Whiskers Rescue Inc. Label.  Feral Cats can not be transported in carriers.

Owned Cats

All owned cats must arrive in a secure, hard plastic carrier. Each carrier must be labeled with the provided Whiskers Rescue label.  If you do not own a carrier we will have appropriate carriers for sale on the van. Each friendly cat must have a cone collar. Please order in advance or be prepared to purchase a collar at the van.  The cost of owned cats will be subsided based on need.

Services provided for each cat.

Feral cats and all outdoor cats will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, receive the FVRCP vaccine and be ear tipped. Owned house cats will receive the same medical care but not be ear tipped.  Any additional care requires must be discussed in advance.

When you bring your cat to the Whiskers Wagon, please send us a photo.

It can be sent via Facebook, email or text message. Please take the best photo you can. These will be used for fundraising purposes. The better the photo you take the more likely it will be that funds can be raised and more surgeries will become available. This will allow us to provide you and others in need additional help.

The combination of Facebook fund raisers and the store we run online is how we are raising funds to offer this program. We need you to be part of the process so we can reach as many people as possible.
